South African runners Edward Mothibi and Gerda Steyn were the winners of the 94th Comrades Marathon that took place in Durban on Sunday.
Last year Mothibi finished in fourth place. This year he beat 2018 champion Bongmusa Mthembu by 25 seconds.

Steyn was the first of the female athletes to reach the finish line in just under six hours.
