The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has launched a new Virtual Skills platform designed to help new professionals entering the workforce prepare for job applications and interviews.
In an increasingly competitive job market, young job seekers, particularly those from Gen Z, are facing growing pressure to stand out by demonstrating both technical ability and strong workplace skills.
The new digital platform aims to support early career professionals by providing practical tools to improve confidence and readiness for employment opportunities.
Jamil Ampomah, Director for Africa at ACCA, says the platform is part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to skills development.
“ACCA is committed to equipping our members and future members across Africa with the skills and knowledge they need for success. This practical resource is designed to help new professionals face the future with confidence,” he said.
The platform includes short interview preparation videos covering CV writing, making a strong first impression, building a LinkedIn profile, interview presentation skills, salary discussions and preparing questions for employers.
It also includes virtual flashcards based on ACCA insights covering topics such as artificial intelligence, global economics, sustainability and workplace technology. These are designed to support interview preparation and networking conversations.
According to ACCA, the platform was developed in response to growing employer expectations around soft skills such as communication, adaptability and professionalism alongside technical knowledge.
The initiative forms part of ACCA Careers, the organisation’s global recruitment and career support platform for accounting and finance professionals.
