Grace Outreach is a non-profit organisation founded on January 12, 2021, during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been committed to serving the community even before its official inception. Founder Telicia Erasmus, inspired by her mother’s legacy of kindness, has organised various outreaches, including children’s gift boxes, winter clothing drives, and Christmas lunches for those in need.
The organisation’s mission is simple: to unite the community, bringing together community leaders, churches, businesses, and organizations to work collectively to uplift vulnerable families and ensure that no one is left behind in times of need.
In early 2025, Grace Outreach partnered with N1 City Shopping Mall to support their school shoe drive. What began as a simple drop-off point quickly blossomed into a successful collaboration, with 132 pairs of new and gently used school shoes collected. These shoes were distributed to children at Kalksteenfontein Primary, Marconi Beam Primary, and various orphaned children under social worker care.
While distributing the shoes in February, it became clear that the school shoe drive made a visible difference. It alleviated the shame and embarrassment children often faced due to broken shoes or no shoes at all. One boy had only one shoe and a slipper to wear to school.
Though the initial target was 500 shoes, Grace Outreach is deeply thankful for the 132 pairs collected, knowing that each pair helped restore dignity and pride to a child in need. With unwavering determination, they are already planning the next drive, eager to expand their reach and continue making a profound and lasting impact in the lives of children who need it most. Every small step toward change creates a ripple effect, and with continued support, Grace Outreach hopes to break down barriers and give every child the opportunity to walk with confidence and hope.
