In his speech Finance Minister Tito Mboweni said SARS would be getting a new commissioner in a few weeks and the IT systems would be upgraded to ensure illegal trade and tax evasion are countered. This is to rectify the mistakes of the former commissioner Tom Moyane.

The duo couldn’t make it to the award ceremony but recorded an acceptance video in front of a Mona Lisa-like portrait of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, giving her a shout out as well as congratulating her on her pregnancy.
