In a visit to Durban on Wednesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa vowed that funding would be made available to those affected by the flooding that has claimed 51 lives and left thousands of citizens displaced.
In the wake of the devastation caused by heavy rains along the East Coast, the President made his way back home from a working visit to Egypt. He said treasury has assured him that the budget for emergency situations would be mobilised “in the biggest way” to assisted those in need at this time.
President Ramaphosa extended a word of thanks to the NGOs, local authorities, rescues teams, and citizens for lending a hand.
