Ethiopian Airlines plane crash claims 157 lives

An Ethiopian Airlines flight headed to Nairobi, Kenya, went down about 60 km outside of Addis Ababa, after only six minutes of being in the air. The crash claimed the lives of all 149 passengers and eight crew members.

The plane was a Boeing 737 MAX 8, which is the same model as the one that crashed in Indonesia last October, resulting in the deaths of 189 people.

Ethiopia and China came to the conclusion that all planes of this model should grounded until further notice. Australia, Argentina, South Korea, and other countries soon followed suit.
