The Ayanda Ndamane Foundation will host THETHA NDODA “Men Speak Up,” a men’s empowerment and healing dialogue aimed at creating a safe platform for men to openly discuss personal and social challenges.
The event will take place on 28 February 2026 at Mewway Hall (OR Tambo) in Khayelitsha from 10:00 to 13:00, and is open to all men in the community at no cost.
THETHA NDODA focuses on key issues affecting men and communities, including mental health awareness, fatherhood and family responsibility, life challenges and social pressures, promoting positive masculinity, and ending gender-based violence.
The initiative is designed to address the reality that many men experience emotional stress, trauma, financial pressure, and societal expectations in silence. Organisers say the goal is to create a safe space for dialogue that can strengthen families, encourage healthier coping mechanisms, and support safer communities.
A statement from the Foundation said, “This is more than a conversation; it is a call for men to speak, heal, and lead with purpose. When men are supported and empowered, families and communities thrive.”
The dialogue forms part of the Foundation’s broader efforts to promote community healing and engagement through open discussion and support structures for men.
