Team of 100 officers to protect streets of Bonteheuwel

There is hope of peace on the streets of Bonteheuwel since a new Neighbourhood Safety Team (NST) was dispatched by Councillor Angus McKenzie at the beginning of July.

The NST consists of 100 law enforcement officers who will operate 24/7, handle by-law offences and assist the Metro Police and South African Police Service in crime prevention.

Residents of Bonteheuwel have complained about gang violence and living in constant fear for the longest time. They welcomed the arrival of the NST saying it would mean they no longer had to look over their shoulders.
