Get ready, South Africa’s premier skateboarding showdown is back. The fifth edition of the Street Lines Skate Tournament takes place on 27 September 2025 at the legendary Thrashers Skatepark in Pretoria. This action packed event will see the nation’s top skaters battling it out for glory in a full day celebration of local skate culture.
Presented by LW Mag and Dragon Energy Drink, together with Converse Cons, Garmin, Monster Products, Dickies and Insta360, the tournament promises an unforgettable experience for both athletes and fans.
Thrashers Skatepark is home to an array of obstacles, giving skaters the perfect canvas to push their creativity and skill to the limit. The competition will feature an impressive lineup of invited athletes from across the country, with both Men’s and Women’s Divisions taking centre stage. Rising stars will also get the opportunity to prove themselves in front of a live crowd.
Skaters will go all out in the qualifying rounds, where judges will be watching closely for use of park, variety, style and technical tricks. The best of the best will advance to the finals, where a prize purse of R60,000 and exclusive partner prizes are up for grabs. The event will close with the always thrilling Best Trick contest, open to all competitors, with the champion earning an Insta360 X4 action camera.
“Street Lines is always a highlight on the skate calendar,” says organiser Ryan van der Spuy. “Skateboarding in South Africa has grown in amazing ways and we are proud to provide this platform for our athletes to shine. We cannot wait to see who will be crowned the 2025 champions.”
