South Africa and South Korea make plans for the future

The presidents of South Africa and South Korea have agreed to work towards the expansion of financial collaboration and trade, and people-to-people exchanges. They met in a summit in Buenos Aires held ahead of the Group of 20 meeting, the first South Korea-South Africa summit to held in six years.

President Moon Jae-in pointed out the relationship his nation formed with South Africa since their assistance in the Korean War. He hopes he and President Cyril Ramaphosa can band together to fortify and expand trade and investment between the two countries, while also growing cultural and human relations.

With South Africa sitting on the UN Security Council board as a rotating member, President Moon thanked South Africa for backing his contribution towards achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula. President Ramaphosa praised the South Korean government’s determination in this regard and declared that South Africa would continue to lend their support.
